Bengaluru, June 3, 2025 — Chevron, the American energy conglomerate, has announced a significant investment of ₹8,300 crore (approximately $1 billion) to establish an Engineering and Innovation Center in Bengaluru. This initiative is expected to create 600 new engineering positions by the end of 2025.

The new center will serve as Chevron’s largest innovation hub outside the United States, focusing on research and development to support the company’s global operations. The investment underscores Chevron’s commitment to leveraging India’s skilled workforce and expanding its technological capabilities.

“The collaboration between the state government and Chevron company in implementing this ₹8,300 crore investment is a clear indication of the significant progress in engineering and innovation in Karnataka,” said MB Patil, Karnataka’s Commerce & Industries and Infrastructure Minister.

Chevron’s move aligns with a broader trend among major oil companies to shift specialized engineering roles to India, capitalizing on cost efficiencies and a growing talent pool.
